* i like the reflecting glass which seems to cast a photoshop-y effect on the subject.

* this gives me a looking-through-a-keyhole kinda feeling

anyway! i was introduced to rickrolling by my brother! this is the internet phenomenon whereby people create interesting fake video titles but in actuality it would bring you to a rick astley "never gonna give you up" video. e.g. would be "britney spears did WHAT again?" or something, and when you click on that video link, you see rick astley doing his little dancemoves. haha.

*this photo exposes the inadequacy of the cameraphone. it's prone to over-exposure because i cannot regulate the amt of light entering the lens... if i were to name this photo let it be called "the limits of sonyericsson"

again, these were taken with my trusty 2mp sony ericsson. i guess i can't take part in the photocompetition anymore, since i will never be able to dream up photos with a reso of 300dpi, much less meet the competition requirements of 600dpi.

and what were the organisers thinking! those professional nikon d700 can only do 300dpi! where are we to find something to give us 600dpi!

i tried blowing up my photos to 600dpi with the guide of my snr and the program jammed on me. :'(

hellos again.

i've decided to be proud of my bro's achievements and post the video he translated here!

well i must say i'm proud of him! at least he's absorbing some language skills by watching animesssssssssssssss and putting it to some use.

anyway, back to derrida, deconstructionism and translation.

jacques derrida (1930-2004) the obscurist, posed this gordian knot of a phrase to translate during one of his lectures - Ulysses Gramophone

"Oui, oui, vous m'entendez bien, ce sont des mots français"

which, if translated to english, will be:

"Yes, yes, you are receiving me well, these are french words"

but your translated sentence consists of english words and not french words... therefore must you alter the translated sentence to prevent the inherent contradiction?

this was derrida at his best, looking for instability within the established fields and trying to create some form of chaos.

bet my bro didn't encounter such issues. haha.
