best years of my life.
Friday, October 27, 2006 / 12:17 PM

when i was younger, i wanted to be swinging on a tree.

so me and my brother and my cousins, innovative as we were, invented the indoor vine.

tie up long, rope-type (not plastic) skipping ropes on the hook where you hang sarongs for babies to sleep (yes back in the 90-s that was the prevalent sleeping culture, not cots) and voila!

the indoor vine.

the indoor vine will allow you to swing from one end of the room to the other, like tarzan.

you may include the "ooo-eee-ooo-eee-ooo"s, and if you like, hang more vines around the house and you may have a forest of skipping rope vines.

that is subject to the number of hooks installed in the ceiling.

i can never stress enough, kids who read this blog, do not try this at home. i'm stupid now because of the side-effects of falling often when you cannot cling on properly to the rope.

but. heck it. IT WAS THE BEST YEARS OF MY LIFE.

leases.

After property tutorial, I cannot help but wonder:

Given a new lease of life.

WHY OH WHY, do they measure our life in terms of leases? And no, there will not be a lease or licence analysis. It is the better end of the stick I agree, proprietary interest over personal, but still.

Certainty of Term, Rent Consideration, Exclusive Possession.

Does it not disturb you to think that someone up there grants us leases? And holds the reversionary interest?

Oh wait. It depends on your faith; whether you have it or not, then your level of disturbance follows.

Not a fee simple. A lease. Not a conveyance. A lease.

What about the myriad of remedies available to the lessor and the lessee when a party wants to terminate?

One cannot help but just wonder.
